Review: Samsung A33 5G Smartphone


The Samsung A33 5G phone belongs to the A series by Samsung, which the company has launched to compete across various price ranges, starting from the budget category all the way to the upper mid-range segment. This phone falls within the mid-range category but offers high-quality specifications that compete with those of higher-end phones. Here is a comprehensive review of the phone's features and drawbacks.


**Design:**


The Samsung A33 5G features the familiar design of the A series from Samsung, with plastic materials, weighing up to 186 grams, a thickness of 8.1mm, and dimensions of 159.7x74x8.1mm. The phone is also water and dust resistant with an IP67 certification. It comes in four colors: black, white, blue, and pink.


**Display:**


The phone boasts a Super AMOLED display measuring 6.4 inches with an 83.7% screen-to-body ratio. The Samsung A33 5G's screen offers a quality of +FHD with a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate, providing a pixel density of 411 pixels per inch. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and includes features like Always-on display and support for over 16 million colors.


The screen offers impressive numbers with performance comparable to that of higher-end phones. However, a notable drawback is the large notch for the front camera and sensors.


**Processor and Performance:**


The Samsung A33 5G is powered by the Samsung Exynos 1280 octa-core processor built on 5nm technology, with the graphics processing unit being the Mali-G68. It runs on Android 12 with the One UI 4.1 user interface.


The phone comes with two RAM options: 6GB and 8GB, along with internal storage options of 128GB and 256GB, expandable via a microSD card. The processor offers strong performance, ensuring excellent performance over extended periods without causing excessive heating.


**Camera:**


The phone features a quad-camera setup on the back, including a 48MP primary camera with a 1.8/F lens aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS). The phone is equipped with a large 5000mAh lithium-polymer battery and supports 25W fast charging.

The Samsung A33 5G supports an in-display fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock. It also supports dual SIM cards for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks, as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, A2DP, LE, USB Type-C 2.0 port, stereo speakers, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, and NFC technology.
