Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Review: Impressive Features and Some Drawbacks

Introduction:

Samsung is gearing up to release the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G, a smartphone with powerful specifications that falls within the mid-range category. Competing against strong contenders like Oppo, Xiaomi, and Realme from China, as well as the giant Huawei and its subsidiary Honor, the Galaxy M52 5G aims to capture attention with its robust processor, large battery, and capable cameras.

Design and Display:

The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G boasts an elegant design featuring a glass back, stylish frame, and a glass front. The rear cameras are housed within a rectangular frame that matches the phone's back color, enhancing its aesthetics.

The vertically aligned rear cameras include a 64MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP macro lens. On the front, there's a small punch-hole housing the 32MP selfie camera.

The device sports a 6.7-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, a pixel density of 397 pixels per inch, and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth performance.

Performance and Hardware:

Running on Android 11 with Samsung's One UI 3.1, the Galaxy M52 5G is powered by a robust Snapdragon 778G 5G processor, an 8-core CPU (four cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four cores at 1.9GHz). Manufactured using the efficient 6nm process, this processor ensures both performance and power efficiency.

The phone offers 128GB of internal storage and 6GB of RAM, expandable via a microSD card.

Battery and Charging:

The phone packs a sizable 5000mAh lithium-ion battery, supporting fast charging at 15W through its USB Type-C 2.0 port. While the battery capacity is commendable, the charging speed might be considered a drawback compared to some other devices in the same price range.

Camera Capabilities:

The camera setup is a standout feature of the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G. The rear triple-camera system includes a 64MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 12MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP macro lens with an f/2.4 aperture.

The rear cameras offer features like panorama and HDR, and they can shoot 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p videos at 30fps. The 32MP front camera, situated within a small punch-hole, captures wide-angle selfies with an f/2.5 aperture and can record 1080p videos at 30fps.

Pros:

1. Powerful and efficient processor.

2. Large battery capacity.

3. Samsung's distinctive One UI.

4. Strong camera capabilities.

Cons:

1. Non-Super AMOLED display.

2. Relatively slow charging speed.

Price:

The expected price for the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G in Egypt is around 7000 Egyptian pounds, while the anticipated global price is approximately 380 euros.

Conclusion:

The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G offers impressive features such as a powerful processor and strong camera capabilities. However, potential drawbacks include the absence of a Super AMOLED display and the relatively slow charging speed.

Considering its potential pricing, the phone may face tough competition from devices like the Realme GT 5G Master and Xiaomi Mi 11 X Pro, which offer similar features at a potentially lower cost.
